Zeilsheim, Germany is one quarter of Frankfurt am Main. It is part of the Ortsbezirk West. It is subdivided into Zeilsheim-Sud, Zeilsheim-Ost and Zeilsheim-Nord. The settlements of Taunusblick (Taunus View) and Marchensiedlung (“Fairy Tale Settlement”) were found in the northeast and southeast parts of the district. Named after the ability to see Taunus mountains in the northwestern region on clear days, the settlement’s name is now Northwestern. Marchensiedlung can be found south of the main road. This name refers specifically to the facades of houses that feature images from the Brothers Grimm. In 794, the district was established as an independent town of Ciolfesheim. It was incorporated into Hochst in 1917. It was incorporated into Frankfurt in 1928, along with Hochst.
Zeilsheim is famous for its camp, which was set up by the Allies to house Displaced Persons and exiles following World War II. In 1946, David Ben-Gurion, a Zionist leader and later Israeli prime minister, visited it. Eleanor Roosevelt, former American First Lady, also visited Zeilsheim. This community is remembered by a small monument located in the park just behind the city hall. A small museum houses alternating exhibits about the history of the area.
